We know that sustainability is as important to you as it is to us – and that’s why we’ve made it easy for you to stay at a hotel that shares your values.
IHG's global 'A Greener Stay' initiative has been a big win for the environment. Guests are incentivised to opt out of housekeeping in return for IHG Rewards points for each night they stay. Guests of Crowne Plaza Melbourne can now be rewarded for doing their part towards a greener stay. As an IHG Rewards member, opt out of housekeeping during your multi-night stay and earn 500 IHG Rewards points. As per the brand standard, the room must be cleaned automatically after four consecutive nights, which means that the guest will not receive Greener Stay bonus points on the fifth consecutive day. At Crowne Plaza Melbourne we are proud to align our ourselves with responsible and local suppliers who share the same commitment to making a positive and sustainable impact.
Crowne Plaza Melbourne takes pride in its consumer offerings. The hotel refurbishment, completed in December 2020, was the first step to improving the guest experience followed by the introduction of further enhancements down to the smaller touches in guestrooms.
Said enhancements saw the start of exciting new partnerships with three thoughtfully selected like-minded businesses. The introduction of new amenities set out to not only appeal to environmentally-conscious guests but has also proven to surprise-and-delight guests. Through guest feedback it has shown that the selection of products on offer show the hotel cares about the suppliers it partners with and the perceived value by guests in providing quality products.
Crowne Plaza Melbourne is pleased to partner with Antipodes, T2 and Koko Black on its current amenity enhancements.
In line with the hotel’s enhanced focus on sustainability, a partnership with Vanity Group, supplying Antipodes bulk bathroom amenities, was introduced to the hotel in March 2021. Antipodes offer a luxurious collection of guest bathroom amenities to stir the senses and delight discerning travellers. Stepping away from single-use plastics, Antipodes products are available in every guestroom in wall-mounted 500ml refillable bottles; a change well received by guests. Previously a near full Crowne Plaza Melbourne distributed close to 1,700 single-use amenity products daily, now reduced to replacing just 2,160 recyclable bottles every three months. The Housekeeping team are responsible for keeping the bottles replenished and sanitised prior to every guest arrival. As a company, Antipodes focus on two key sustainable areas – packaging and sustainably harvested ingredients.
T2 has revitalised the hotel’s tea offering with a selection of classic and favourite teas, including their specialty Melbourne Breakfast tea; a lovely surprise and delight element for both local and visiting guests. The Melbourne-born company is focused on doing business in a way that benefits all and with little impact on the environment. Sharing the same drive for sustainable practices, T2 teas are sustainably sourced and packaged in 92% reusable, recyclable or compostable packaging.
Natural and handcrafted. Koko Black offer a range of complex and indulgent chocolates. Originating from the finest Belgian couverture chocolate, each individual chocolate is meticulously handcrafted in Melbourne, using premium natural ingredients.
