History of Crown Casino
Crown Casino opened in 1994 at the World Trade Centre and was originally located on the north bank of the Yarra River. With a space of 510,000 square metres, it’s one of the biggest casinos in the world! It’s also one of the central features of the Southbank precinct of the Melbourne Central Business District.
The complex as it’s known today, opened on the 8th of May in 1997. Aside from the main gaming areas, the complex features entertainment and shopping sections that are family-friendly and children are allowed to enter.
It features some 540 tables games (including 100 poker tables) and 2,500 poker machines. Crown provides the six main casino games of blackjack, craps, pai gow, poker, baccarat and roulette.
If you’re more into Poker, Crown won’t disappoint. Aside from three card poker on the main gaming floor, the casino offers many varieties of poker including Texas hold ‘em. There are more than 3,500 poker machines on the casino floor, with values ranging from one cent to one dollar.
